How to extend your phone battery life

  Battery tips for phones

1] When you buy a new phone, charge and discharge your phone for the first two to three cycles, check out the battery completely (till the phone switches off) and then recharge.
Nickel-based batteries should be charged for 16 hours initially and run through 2-3 full charge/full discharge cycles, while lithium ion batteries should be charged for about 5-6 hours. Ignore the phone telling you that the battery is full—this is normal but is not accurate if the battery is not initialized.
However lithium-ion battery does not require completely discharging  then recharging the
battery since Li-Ion does not have a memory effect.

2] kill any unused apps by regularly checking the task manager.

3] keep the Bluetooth turned off when you are not using Bluetooth.

4] keep the brightness of the screen low to get better battery backup.

5] Animated themes, operator logo and screensavers make your phone  drain the battery quickly.

6] Wi-Fi and 3G services drain out the battery very fast, so turn the services of whenever you are not using them.

7] do not use vibration ring tones when it is not required.vibration ringtones drain the battery more quickly.

8] Keep the battery in room temperature.overheating reduces battery life leaving the phone inside the car or  under direct sunlight reduces battery life.

9] Go to Display settings, and reduce the values of power saver time-out and light time-out. This will put the pond into power saving mode more quickly.

10] Games use almost all the functions of the phone from the screen, speakers, key press to vibrator. Minimize playing games on the phone if you need your battery.

11] Clean your battery's metal contacts every couple of months with a cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol. This keeps the transfer of power from your battery more efficient
.
12] Always use an original charger for your handset. Using cheap chargers could damage the battery or the device.

13] Leaving your battery to charge overnight won't damage it. But no longer than that. The average phone battery charges in 2-3 hours, try to keep the phone charging for that specified time only.

14] USB charging and car charging takes longer than the wall charger and also doesn't fully charge the phone. So always prefer to use a wall charger.

15] Try to avoid using the voice dialing feature if you want better battery life (especially in a phone with large 'contact' database).
16] Turn off your phone in the subway or any environnement with no coverage.
When there is no coverage, the phone keeps searching for network for nothing. For a long run underground or into the country it can drain all your battery for nothing.
